My Story

I started in the “Bachelors of Science in Game Design” at Full Sail University in September of 2020. In December of 2021,life struggles landed but I persisted until July of 2022. I left schooling due to the necessity to work but I returned to the “Interactive Technologies with a focus on Game Design Bachelors” in November of 2023 and will be graduating in May of 2024!

What inspired me to get into Game design; is a lengthy story that I will try to highlight. I initially started my college career with an interest in Cybersecurity and an aspiration to work for the Department of Homeland Security. I had just retired as a soldier and this seemed like a good path for me. Shortly after starting that, my grandfather died, and I took a break from there to reflect on my career aspirations. I decided not to be a desk jockey doing cybersecurity and instead turned to my fondest memories of my grandfather and telling stories. He had a masters in writing, was a phenomenal story teller, and is the person that introduced me to video games. This is how I choose to remember him and honor that memory.

I plan to start my own indie dev studio. Not outright but that is the dream goal. I will start with spending a few years working at a professional capacity learning the ins and outs of the industry before I attempt to start on my own. I will be designing games in my free time, initially a hobby, and will use these designs to start prototyping. I run my own perforce and filezilla servers, have years of experience in managing servers, and I will use all this knowledge and my experience at Full Sail to turn my designs into viable prototypes. Then I will kick off with crowdfunding and go from there.
